Class action lawsuit filed against HP over dumping of webOS
By: Tom Manning - September 16, 2011

A class action lawsuit has been filed against HP over the company's supposed misleading of shareholders. Richard Gammel, a shareholder, has filed the action in which he accuses HP of concealing the fact that its existing business model was not working and that webOS was no longer central to its business model.

On August 18 HP announced that it was no longer making webOS hardware and the stock plunged the next day by 20 percent.

Do you think the lawsuit has merit? As upset as all of us are at HP for yanking our chains, at the end of the day I think we're all just out of luck. I don't see how this lawsuit could be successful.
