HP dumps CEO as Meg Whitman takes over

News - By: SPBlast! Staff - September 22, 2011

HP has officially dumped CEO Leo Apotheker and asked Meg Whitman to take over. Whitman was on the Board of Directors, but will not be President and CEO. Whitman has a fantastic record of success as CEO of eBay so she will hopefully have similar results at HP. She is the sixth CEO since 2000 so she definitely has her work cut out for her.

I only have one question. Will she bring back webOS?

Apotheker made some really questionable moves, mainly dumping webOS and intending to dump HP's PC business. Will Whitman scrap those plans? I sure hope so. Things just started looking up for HP!
