So I got my unlocked Palm Pre 2 the other day and it's been a wild ride so far. I was so excited because even though I'd rather have the Pre 3, I've been a webOS fan from its inception and I really wanted better hardware compared to my Sprint Pre.
I won't bore everyone with the details of the issues I've had with the Pre 2, but I'll list them here with little explanation. Let's just say something was definitely freaky with my phone. I was seriously disappointed in the Pre 2. I had lockups, and slowdowns, and missed calls, etc. and I finally just did a hard reset.
Issues:
So after the hard reset I got back up and running and so far so good. I've been running smoothly for 3 hours now. I have no idea what happened, but I was seriously going to return the phone.
Now, here are a few things I don't like about webOS 2.0. I'm not sure why these decisions were made, but I'm hoping they will change back sometime.
Here are a few things I just think leave the Pre user wanting:
Well, believe it or not folks I love webOS. I think it's the best OS on the market, but on crappy hardware. I'm crossing my fingers that the Pre 3 will be everything I ever dreamed for, but if it doesn't have Auto BCC in the mail app I'll be right back to my iPhone.
You like webOS? Let me know in the comments.

Issues:
- Poor reception. I keep missing calls.
- OS hangs often causing mis-hits and wrong apps to launch.
- Gesture tutorial keeps popping up even though I've been through it.
- IMAP mail delayed.
- Keeps dinging and popping up a charging reminder on Touchstone.
- Custom ringtones not saved. I set it but it's not saved.
- Using favorites in phone app and selecting "view contact" does nothing.
- Contact photos take long to load, probably because they're not cached and coming from Google.
- Data Transfer app no longer works with standalone Outlook on the PC.

Now, here are a few things I don't like about webOS 2.0. I'm not sure why these decisions were made, but I'm hoping they will change back sometime.
- Cards don't go into the tiny mode when rearranging them. In webOS 1.4 the tiny cards made it seem more roomy. Now it just seems like I'm on a really really small screen. I know...I am.
- Just Type bar can't be removed. What is up with that? I don't need it there. Let me get rid of it.
- Screen not as bright as the original Pre. Don't ask me why, but I can't make the screen as bright.
- Very poor vibrate mode. There's no way I'll ever get a call if this phone is in my pocket and it's on vibrate. It's nearly non-existent. Even if it's sitting on my desk when the phone rings, it makes very little noise. My other Pre was known to vibrate off the desk at times.
- No contact icon in the SMS notification. That was such a slick feature when I could see at a glance who texted me. Now...no pic.
- No Gmail icon for IMAP Gmail account notifications. Again, I don't know why they changed it but I liked it with the GMail icon.
- No orange numbers on the keyboard. It's not easy to see which keys are the number keys.
Here are a few things I just think leave the Pre user wanting:
- Still no Auto BCC in the mail app. Lame!
- Battery life still sucks hard. This little battery just doesn't last longer than 6 or 7 hours with any kind of use. Go running with the music on and you'll be lucky to squeeze out 3 1/2 hours.
- Screen and keyboard are too small!
