palmOne Going Back To Palm, Inc.

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - May 24, 2005

It looks like palmOne was short lived. In a move to secure a household name in the PDA sector, PalmOne Inc. has decided it wants to be Palm, Inc. again. palmOne Inc. has agreed to pay PalmSource Inc. $30 million dollars for full rights to the Palm brand name.

When the two companies split in 2003 they both owned a part of the name. palmOne and PalmSource agreed to share ownership of the palm brand name, but now palmOne will change its name to Palm, Inc. later this year. No word has been given on what PalmSource will be after the sale of the name.

A new logo will be unveiled over the next few months.
