The Pepper Pad is now on sale from Amazon.com for $799.99 (pre-orders only). The official ship date is Jun 28, 2005. Pepper Computer Inc. says the Pepper is the first portable wireless device that gives consumers instant Internet and digital media access which can also control in-home devices like your TV and stereo over IR.

The Pepper Pad runs on Monta Vista Linux 2.4 CEE3.1 operating system, and includes a 20GB 1.8-inch harddrive.

With Wi-Fi networking capabilities, Pepper offers hassle-free, wireless, instant-on access to the Internet and is ready to go anytime. With Pepper's built-in digital media libraries it is easy to keep photos, music and videos organized and searchable. Pepper's additional applications make sharing photo albums or scrapbooks simple. The Pepper wireless pad is portable and rugged so you can use it in any room at home or away.
