Treo 600 Bluetooth Bounty

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - June 16, 2004

The Treo 600 Bluetooth Bounty is now out. Although the Treo 600 is a very popular handheld, many of its users believe it should have a Bluetooth driver available for it. The Treo 600 does have as SD card slot, and there are several Bluetooth SDIO card on the market but none of them work with the Treo 600. TreoCentral is organizing a pledge drive to raise enough money to convince some developer to create one.

TreoCentral has pledged $500 towards a bounty that will pay a developer to write drivers for the smart phone. At this point, $1200 has been pledged towards this goal.

In order to qualify for the bounty, the driver must allow the Treo to HotSync with a PC over Bluetooth, and exchange files with another Bluetooth-enabled device. There is also the goal that the driver will allow the Treo 600 to use wireless headsets, though this is not a requirement.
