Group Sense Shows Tiny Palm OS Smart Phone

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - February 23, 2004

Hong Kong-based Group Sense PDA has unveiled a new, very small, Xplore G88 Palm Powered smart phone at the 3GSM Word Congress in Cannes, France. The company claims the Xplore G88 is the smallest and lightest Palm OS smart phone yet. By the looks of it, they are correct.

The design of the phone is quite interesting. Users can use an on screen dialpad, or a slide out dial pad that emerges from the bottom of the phone.

PDA France got a chance to view the device and they've posted some pictures on their web site.

This smart phone will have a built-in camera capable of taking 320-by-240-pixel pictures. The Xplore G88 runs Palm OS 4.1.2 and has 16 MB of RAM and a 22 MB Flash internal memory card for additional storage. The phone will run on GSM/GPRS networks which means it will do voice, and data.

Group Sense PDA reports that it is currently talking with several operators to bring the G88 to market this summer. No pricing information has been reported.
