New Sony Clie VZ90 Available in the US -- Sort Of

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - October 16, 2004

Sony recently announced the new Clie PEG-VZ90 in Japan but not in the US. Never fear though as Brighthand is reporting that a company called Dynamism is buying the new VZ90 in Japan and offering it for sale in the United States. They are even attempting to convert the Japanese version of the Palm OS to an English version for this release although it will probably not be a full conversion.

Dynamism is offering the VZ90 for $1099 which is quite expensive. If you really want to get your hands on a new Clie though, it may be worth the extra money. They sell for about $820 US in Japan.

The new VZ90 comes with 64 MB of RAM, 128 MB of ROM, and a Memory Stick slot. It also has a CompactFlash Type II slot, built-in WiFi and a long battery life. The new VZ90 has 480 x 320 pixel OLED display that measures 3.8 inches. Unlike previous Clie models, this model can be run in portrait or landscape mode. It runs the Japanese version of Palm OS 5.2.1 on a 128 MHz processor.
