News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - July 26, 2003

Sprint PCS is now offering the Samsung SPH-i500 Palm oS smartphone. We've been waiting a good while for this one to debut. No word yet on if or when the SPH-i700 will hit Sprint shelves.

The i500 uses a clamshell design which puts the screen on the top and the Graffiti area and keypad on the bottom. It has a screen that is a little larger than 160-by-160 and is a touch screen display allowing 65,000 colors.

It runs Palm OS 4.1 on a 66 MHz Dragonball processor and has 16MB of memory. It comes with a small battery which offers up to 2.8 hours of continuous talk time or 210 hours of continuous standby time. It will also have an extended battery that can do 4.2 hours of continuous talk or 250 hours of continuous standby time. The SPH-i500 sells for $600.
