Samsung SPH-i500 Smartphone Announced

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - January 08, 2003

Samsung has announced a new Palm OS based smartphone. Unlike some other smartphones that have recently been released this one looks to be very small and light. In fact, it is reported to weigh in at only 4.5 ounces.

The SPH-i500 includes a 160x240 pixel, 16-bit color touch screen display on the top half and the Graffiti area and dial pad on the bottom half. The phone will support CDMA technology and will handle both voice and data transmissions.

The i500 will run Palm OS 4.1 on a 66 MHz Dragonball 68k processor, and contains 16 MB of RAM.

It is unclear when the i500 will actually be in stores but look for it in the next few months.
