Palm Prevails in E-Pass Lawsuit

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - August 15, 2002

Palm has announced that they have successfully defended against a patent lawsuit that was filed against them by E-Pass Technologies, Inc.. The lawsuit claimed that Palm's handheld organizers were electronic, multifunction cards, a violation of a 1994 patent obtained by E-Pass.

In their announcement Palm issued a statement saying that they would "fight meritless claims vigorously." This seems to be in response to the recent string of lawsuits filed against Palm. Just last month Palm was exonerated in two patent infringement lawsuits filed by NCR Corp.
