News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - December 19, 2002

Kyocera has announced that AllTel will begin selling the Kyocera 7135 Palm OS Phone in the United States beginning tomorrow, December 20. The phone will retail for $499. The phone had previously been available in Australia through Telestra.

The 7135 is the latest smartphone offering from Kyocera. It follows the QCP 6035 which was released in 2001. The specs for the 7135 are impressive. Among the major points are the 33 MHz Dragonball processor, Palm OS 4.1, a nice color screen, 16 MB of RAM, and an integrated SD/MMC slot for memory expansion.

The phone side of the device is equally impressive boasting voice activated dialing, tap-n-dial (allowing direct dialing of numbers from contacts), and external caller ID. Talk time for the device should top out at around 3.5 hours, and the phone cold get up to 160 hours of standby time.
